OPP Searching for Shoplifter Caught on Camera in Fergus

Police are looking for a suspect who was caught on camera shoplifting from the Zehrs Markets in Fergus last weekend.

On Sunday February 25, 2018, Wellington County OPP responded to a report of a theft at the grocery store on Tower Street. Police say that staff saw the suspect leave the store with a cart full of groceries and small appliances without paying. The value of goods stolen is estimated to be approximate $600.

OPP are now asking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect who they say left in a white GMC Acadia SUV. Eye witnesses describe the suspect as a white, heavy set woman, in her mid- to late-twenties, wearing a “Lakers” t-shirt and white boots.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP or Crime Stoppers, should they wish to remain anonymous.
