Open And Closed On Family Day

It’s the first long weekend of 2017. This Monday, marks Family Day. It is a provincial holiday that is celebrated annually on the third Monday of February. Because it is not a federal holiday, not everybody getsit off. Here is a list of what is open and closed:

Closed:

  • The LCBO and Beer Store.
  • Banks.
  • Municipal offices.
  • Schools.
  • Libraries
  • Some Canada Post locations.

Transit:

  • TTC will run on a holiday schedule.
  • GO Transit will operate on a Saturday schedule.

Open:

  • Federal run government offices (Passports, Canada Post, Service Canada locations, etc).
  • Tourist attractions such as: Toronto Zoo, Hockey Hall of Fame, CN Tower, Art Gallery of Ontario, Royal Ontario Museum, Casa Loma, etc.
  • Movie theatres.

Shopping: Some malls will be open on Monday, on reduced hours.

  • Toronto Premium Outlets
  • Bramalea City Centre
  • Eaton Centre
  • Pacific Mall
  • Pomenade
  • Upper Canada Mall
  • Hillcrest Mall
  • Fairview Park Mall

Note: Orangeville Mall will be closed.
