A new mural is in the works by Canadian graffiti artist, Uber 5000. He already has quite a repertoire of work around the city and is expanding it to pay tribute to Toronto and what makes the city unique.
The mural can be spotted on the side of a building on Richmond Street West, close to what is known as Graffiti Alley to locals. The mural touches on iconic current events, people and things that have happened in the city this past year including Dart Guy, Crane Girl, the Ikea money and the 6-god himself, Drake, who can be found sitting on a painted CN Tower, reminiscent of his ‘Views’ album cover.
In addition to those, a Blue Jay wearing a baseball hat, a Sam the Record Man sign, as well as a giant moose have made an appearance. Uber 5000 also says he plans on adding Tragically Hip frontman Gord Downie, the late Rob Ford and a raccoon – because what would Toronto be without raccoons?
The mural is expected to be finished by the end of August, so keep an eye out!
