More Than 100 People Walked Out Of This Horror Film At Cannes Because It Was Too Intense

It’s a movie that is so gruesome, more than 100 people left the theatre during it’s Premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this week. The movie is The House That Jack Built, and it’s about a serial killer named Jack (played by Matt Dillon) and his victims. The film shows horrifying murders, including a character played by Uma Therman. The scene most people walked out of was the death of a man played by Riley Keough. Variety’s Movie Critic called it “one of the most unpleasant movie-going experiences of my life.”

Danish director Lars von Trier is behind the film. Von Trier describes the film as a celebration of “the idea that life is evil and soulless.”
