Marineland is firing back against the new allegations of animal cruelty by the OSPCA, claiming the animal rights group is a band of “discredited activists”. The Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals has charged Marineland with six counts of animal cruelty relating to a number of land animals, including elk and deer. That’s in addition to the five counts of animal cruelty charges relating to the treatment of peacocks, guinea hens and black bears back in the fall. Marineland has denied all the charges — none of which have been proven in court — and says the OSPCA is just trying to appease animal rights groups.
