Male Arrested with Replica Hand Gun at Courthouse in Orangeville

Orangeville Police have arrested and charged a 20-year-old male in connection to a report of a male being in possession of a hand gun at the County of Dufferin Courthouse Wednesday morning.
Police say on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, just after 11 a.m., maintenance staff were working outside of the County of Dufferin Courthouse, located at 10 Louisa Street in Orangeville, when they observed a male with what they believed to be a hand gun in the waistband of his pants.
Orangeville Police officers within the courthouse were alerted and the male was located and arrested without incident. Police seized a replica hand gun (BB gun) from the male.
The 20 year-old of Grand Valley, was charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Possession of an Imitation Weapon for a Purpose Dangerous to the Public Peace.
The male was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
