Make Your Own Pop Tart House!

Wanna change up your gingerbread house this year? How about a Pop Tart House?!

I saw this online a couple years back and thought it was a neat idea. Check out the full article at Pretty Prudent, by clicking HERE.

You need:

Pop-Tarts (ones like the Confetti cupcake or colourful ones work well, too!)
Use Peanut Butter for the walls, or you can also use icing if there are allergies etc.

Tin foil covered board

For the Icing:

1 lb confectioner’s sugar

2 egg whites

¼ teaspoon lemon juice

Place ingredient in the bowl of a mixer and beat on medium high until thick and stiff peaks form, scrape down sides when necessary. Place into piping bag or juts pop a hole in a ziploc bag — works the same!

For the Decoration:

Cereal works well: Froot Loops, Apple Jacks, Frosted Flakes etc.
Candies like mini candy canes and other colorful, hard candies.
Yogurt covered pretzels for a yard!

Trim the top corners of the front and back walls.

Lay the walls out and pipe the frosting along the edges like in the photo.

Stand the walls up and press together. Place the roof pieces on. No need to worry about not matching up or gaps, those will be filled in with decorations.

Pipe on frosting and decorate. I line the roof with Froot Loops and made a chimney and back window out of Cracklin’Oat Bran.

When the house was finished I cut the bottoms off of yogurt covered pretzels and glued them down to create a snow covered fence. For the yard use Frosted Flakes (pictured at the top)
