Toronto Maple Leafs forward Nazem Kadri has been suspended three games by the NHL Department of Player Safety for boarding Boston’s Tommy Wingels in Game 1 of the the Eastern Conference First Round on Thursday. Kadri was initially given a five-minute penalty for charging and a game misconduct. Wingels left the game with an undisclosed injury. Kadri was third on the Maple Leafs with 32 goals during the regular season with JVR leading the pack with 36 and Matthews with 34. Toronto has depth and Mike Babcock said in an interview that ‘We lost guys all year long. Dig in and play.” Marleau is expected to centre the second line with Marner and Hyman. Andreas Johnnson is likely to make his NHL playoff debut on the fourth line with Plekanec and Kapanen. The Buds will have to bounce back from their 5-1 loss Thursday night against the Bruins. Game time tonight is 8pm at the TD Garden. The Penguins blasted the Flyers Wednesday night 7-0 but the Philly came back to tie the series Friday night with a 5-1.
