A 42-year old man from Kenilworth is facing a slew of charges after police clocked him at 64 km/h over the posted speed limit in Orangeville Thursday morning.
On October 5, 2017, an Orangeville police officer was conducting traffic enforcement on Broadway, where the speed limit is 50km/h. Police say they have received many complaints of drivers speeding on the road lately. Just before noon, a pick-up truck headed west was clocked at 114km/h on the officer’s radar unit. Police pulled over the man driving and began an investigation which turned up a small quantity of marijuana.
As a result, the driver was arrested and charged with Stunt Driving – Excessive Speed by more than 50km/h over the posted speed limit, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Breach of Probation. As well, man’s license was suspended for seven days. The man will appear in court in Orangeville on November 6th.
