JAY-Z is working on an album of unreleased Prince music, which will be released next year. Once complete, the music will stream on JAY-Z’s Tidal service for two weeks. After seven days, the album will be available for download. JAY-Z said in a statement: “Our only goal is to share Prince’s music with his fans as he wanted.” “We will continue to respect and honor Prince’s enduring legacy and wishes with this new collection.”
Prince worked alongside Tidal for HITnRUN Phase One and HITnRUN Phase Two. It wasn’t always fun and games though. Prince’s estate and Tidal were in a legal dispute recently. Tidal believed it made an agreement to stream Prince’s entire catalog. However, the service only has access to the singer’s music post 1996.
