Four Youths Arrested After Crashing Stolen Car in Caledon

Four 16-year-old boys are facing charges after being crashing a stolen vehicle last Friday morning.

Just before noon on February 2, 2018, an officer from the Caledon OPP’s Traffic Unit was stationed on Bramalea Road when a 2017 Ford Fusion plowed through the school zone at a very high rate of speed. The officer followed the car onto Mayfield Road where it continued aggressively in and out of traffic before losing the officer. Police found the vehicle a short time later after it had collided with a post at the intersection of Mayfield and Dixie Road.

Police say four teens then fled from the vehicle, which turned out to be stolen, into a farmer’s field north of the intersection. At this time, two local schools were briefly placed in “hold and secure” while police tracked down the suspects.

As a result, the four teens, all from Brampton, were each charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000. They cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
