Cocaine and Marijuana Seized at RIDE Spot Check in Shelburne

A 24-year old man from Welland is facing drug charges after a Police found more than just alcohol during a RIDE check in Shelburne Thursday night.

In the evening on October 5, 2017, Shelburne Police pulled a car into the spot check which immediately caught the attention of the officer. The resulting roadside search turned up almost 80 grams of marijuana, two syringes with cannabis concentrate and a small amount of cocaine.

As a result, the driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance under the Controlled Drugs and Substance Act. He will appear in court in Orangeville in early November.
