Christina Aguilera Discusses Why She Left the Voice

She returned to the limelight to promote her upcoming album, Liberation, which is going to be released next month. Aguilera sat down with W magazine to talk about her past music videos as well as why she left NBC’s The Voice.

The star said that she didn’t feel like it was a ‘comfortable place to be,’ where she was ‘just a part of a money-making machine.’ Christina further explained that when she stops believing ‘in something, then it’s like, What am I doing here?,’ adding that ‘I think I did choose to, no pun intended, take a chair for so long and do something very commercial for my little ones.’ She was referring to her 10-year-old son Max and her three-year-old old daughter Summer. Adding: ‘But at a certain point I felt like I’m not even doing them a service by cheating myself and what I’m here to do.’ The pop singer finished: ‘They should be seeing mommy live her best life.’ Christina put a stop to rumors that she had left because of Gwen Stefani: ‘Oh my God, no!,’ adding: ‘No, it never had anything to do with any one person at all.’ She said she thinks ‘it’s really cute Blake (Shelton) and Gwen found love in that chaotic environment.’
