Caledon OPP Recover Loaded Gun And Drugs At Traffic Stop

A Caledon OPP officer spotted a vehicle on Mayfield Road near Inder Heights Drive last Sunday just after midnight in Caledon as the vehicle was going well over the speed limit.

When the officer tried to stop the vehicle it entered a residential area and began to drive in a dangerous manner. The officer was able to safely stop the vehicle when it turned into a driveway.

During the course of the police investigation at the scene, a loaded semi-automatic hand gun and drugs were found inside vehicle.

All occupants of the vehicle were arrested at the scene and charged.

An 18-year-old male from Toronto faces nine charges related to fleeing from police, drugs, firearms and speeding.

A second 18-year-old male from Toronto faces five charges related to firearms and interfering with police.

A third 18-year-old male from Toronto faces four charges related to drugs and firearms.

All three males were held for a bail hearing and will appear in court again in Orangeville on Tuesday.
