There’s no break from the scandals at the White House this week. A day after it was reported that President Donald Trump disclosed classified information about ISIS to Russia’s foreign minister, another bombshell report came out yesterday. The New York Times reports notes disclosed from recently fired FBI director James Comey claim Trump personally asked him to shut down his investigation into Trump’s former National Security Adviser – Michael Flynn and his contacts with Russia. Reportedly, Comey detailed the conversation in a memo after returning from the White House where the request was made. “I hope you can let this go,” Comey wrote, quoting Trump in the document, which was described to CNN by sources. The White House has issued a furious denial of the allegations. If this claim is true, it could be interpreted as obstruction of justice, which is a crime.
