Let’s show off Orangeville’s gardens.
The Town’s 2017 national 5-bloom win shows the passion and commitment of the community for all things green and flowering, so why not show it off by entering the Bloomin’ Garden Showcase? With 10 different categories in private, public or business gardens, there are lots of opportunities to compete.
The Bloomin’ Garden Showcase runs until June 24. The fun event offers prize opportunities and bragging rights for Orangeville’s gardeners and property owners. Best Bloomin’ categories include business; children’s garden (12 & under); container gardens; condo; apartment or seniors’ complex; edible garden; government building; home floral display; home landscape; restaurant/bar patio; and school.
In 2017, the Town of Orangeville competed at the national level, achieving a five-bloom bronze rating. The previous year, the Town of Orangeville was one of 10 Ontario municipalities to achieve a full five-bloom rating at the provincial level, allowing them to compete at the national level in their population category. As community involvement is the essence of the program, the Bloomin’ Garden Showcase is an important part of Communities in Bloom competition that sees the Town judged in July at the national level, along with two other communities in its population category.
Registration forms for the Bloomin’ Garden Showcase are available at recreation centres, at Dufferin Garden Centre, online, or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Don’t miss out on the fun – register by June 24.
It’s also a chance to spruce up in preparation for the arrival of the national Communities in Bloom judges next month.
