When the Leafs lose by 4 or more goals they seem to come back the next game and play better than ever this season. After a 7-2 loss against the Florida Panthers Tuesday, the Leafs came up big with a 5-0 win over Tampa Bay Lightning. Andersen picked up his fourth shoutout of the season. Morgan Rielly and Matt Martin scored 15 seconds apart during Toronto’s four-goal second period. Roman Polak, Connor Brown and James van Riemsdyk also scored for Toronto who are now one point ahead of TBL and the New York Islanders for the final wild card birth in The Eastern Conference. The Leafs have a tough battle tomorrow night at ACC against the Chicago Blackhawks. The Leafs will be sporting the uniform of the St. Pats (1919-1927). It’s only the second time since being renamed the Maple Leafs that the throwback jerseys will be worn. Tampa plays Washington Capitals and Columbus plays The Islanders Saturday night.
