Amazon Unveils Alexa For Cars – Available Later This Year

The Consumer Electronics Show is now on in Las Vegas. Yesterday Amazon announced that ‘Alexa Onboard Technology’ will soon come in vehicles and let drivers access the Alexa through the internal infotainment system.  That means drivers or passengers can play music, ask for directions or get other information simply by speaking.  For smart connected homes, drivers will even be able to tell their cars to set a comfortable temperature at the house before arriving.  Toyota says it will begin integrating Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant into vehicles with the Entune 3.0 infotainment system, and Lexus models with the Enform 2.0 system later this year, but no specific date was announced.
