The remains of a man who was killed in the 9/11 terror attacks have been identified almost 16 years later. This is the first new identification made since March 2015 and efforts are constant and continuous.
The medical examiner’s office uses DNA testing to match bone fragments to the 2,753 people killed on the World Trade Center attacks Sept. 11, 2001.
Out of the 2,753 people killed, only 1,641 have been identified. This means 40 percent of those killed have yet to be found and identified.
