The Leafs have improved big time this year and an exciting team to watch with an 18-13-8 record but they can’t figure out The Habs who have beaten The Buds 13 times in a row. Not even Zack Hyman running over Carey Price could stop them. The Canadiens are 25-9-6 and lead the Atlantic Division have been plagued with many injuries but still find ways to win without key players in the lineup including a 5-3 victory last night at ACC in an “Original 6” battle. The Canadiens have won three in a row and have a point in six straight. The Maple Leafs had a seven-game point streak end. Canadiens coach Michel Therrien picked up his 400th career victory. Nikita Scherbak was drafted in 2014 and was called up from St Johns Ice Caps in the AHL replacing Brendan Gallagher and scored in his NHL debut and celebrated by jumping on the boards and glass. He is the 30th different player to suit up this year for Montreal which leads the league. Pacioretty, Lehkonen, Radulov and McCarron scored for Montreal. Bozak, Kadri and JVR scored in the losing effort for Toronto and Marner had 3 assists. The Habs play Washington tomorrow night and the Leafs are off until Friday vs Rangers and Saturday in Ottawa.
